The Decision Science team provides internal consulting services and analytical products for various business units across the Walt Disney Company. We specialize in creating innovative scientific models and data-driven decision support tools to optimize business decisions. The team consists of experts across many disciplines, including Statistics, Econometrics, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, and Psychology.

Provide project management leadership and technical support for Decision Science work streams and activities. Work with project teams (clients, partners, contributors) to ensure successful implementation of science solutions to include all phases of the project: requirements gathering, design, implementation, quality assurance, and maintenance. Assess, design, and develop appropriate forecasting, simulation and optimization models to solve business problems across The Walt Disney Company. Identify revenue and profit opportunities through data analysis and research. Develop tools to measure effectiveness of revenue management and pricing practices. Provide science calibration support for decision science models. Identify and apply best practices in the field of applied science (statistics, operations research). Act as science consultant to all business units within the Walt Disney Company.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of equivalent industry experience applying advanced analytics
  • Demonstrated strong mathematical modeling skills.
  • Working knowledge of one or more computer programming language such as SAS, Visual Basic, C/C ++, Java
  • Ability to explain complex topics in simple terms
  • Demonstrated strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong partnering and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn new business problems, science, software applications and tools
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in revenue management and pricing
  • Some experience with emerging big data analytics, such as machine learning

Preferred Education: Ph.D. in Operations Research or equivalent

Required Education: Master's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent
