The Assistant Director of Marketing Analytics is responsible for building and maintaining the intelligence infrastructure as well as predictive analytics behind all marketing campaigns. These tasks span the area of prospect analytics, customer (student) analytics, market penetration and saturation, and life-cycle management analytics.

Some examples of such projects will be segmentation, lift and correlation assessments across multiple channels, weight rebalancing across channels, lead flow control and timing analysis, minimization of acquisition costs, maximization of reach within a given spend, burnouts across channel hops, and LifeTime Value (LTV) maximization.

This position will also be involved in some primary market data collection and analyses. The selected candidate will have a solid understanding of statistical methods, relational databases and data warehouses, tools such as SPSS / SAS or other statistical analyses packages, and CRM and ERP systems that will act as a source for data for analytical purposes.


Essential functions: 100% of time
  • Provide insight in regards to statistical methods, such as cluster, discriminants, regressions, correlations, significance and hypothesis testing etc.
  • Create reports by pulling data from systems that suit the needs of different stakeholders and constituents.
  • Provide insight to data by developing easy to understand, and actionable recommendations based on the analyses described above.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders within the marketing team as well as the rest of the organization to gather requirements for analysis / analytics/ reporting projects.
  • Develop and manage processes and strategies to share insightful findings and raise the importance of their use in daily actions and tasks.
  • Develop ongoing analytics roadmaps.
  • Provide management to Marketing Analyst; adhere to HR and University policies. Approve timesheets/time off requests. Provide support and performance feedback as needed.


Special Conditions of Employment: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Need to be able to work flexible hours particularly given campuses' extended hours of operation. Applicants for this position are subject to a criminal history review.

Previous Experience: Solid understanding of solutions, along with 5+ years of work experience spanning three or more of the following areas: CRM, database marketing, email marketing, marketing operations, and project or program management.

  • Bachelors in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or Business
  • Knowledge and aptitude working with CRMs, database technologies, analysis toolpaks, project trackers, and other related systems. Must embrace innovative technologies for marketing purposes.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a well-informed approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to quickly trouble-shoot any issues that arise
  • Must be able to lead and manage cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with senior staff, faculty, other members of the campus community, as well as external service providers, vendors and agencies.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and results-oriented with a strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to focus and thrive in a highly dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Be knowledgeable about systems such as CRM, ERP, analyses toolkit (SPSS / SAS / Marketing Engineering / MiniTab or any other)
  • Be knowledgeable about databases, data warehouses, and data modeling / management techniques.

Desired Qualifications:
  • MBA degree preferred
  • Experience in marketing or any other business intelligence or analytics field for an education institution
  • Knowledge and Education: Bachelor's degree is required. MBA preferred.
