As a Senior Scientist (Senior Operations Research Analyst - Data Scientist), you will be responsible for researching, evolving, and innovating scientific methods and advanced business logic within our Advanced Planning, Demand Forecasting, and Inventory Optimization solutions.

You will help lead the innovation and advancement of solutions to complex supply chain management problems using a variety of methods from predictive analytics and data mining, forecasting, mathematical programming, heuristics/meta-heuristics, network analysis, and simulation.

You will have direct contact with customers to fully gain an understanding about their business problems and will be responsible for methodology and model development while collaborating with product management, software engineers, and business analysts - as well as collaborate with other scientists within our global research and development organization.

You will be viewed as an expert and thought leader within in the disciplines of predictive analytics and data sciences, demand planning and forecasting - with experience in inventory optimization and supply chain.

  • Work closely with the product development group's senior management of science & optimization to help evolve our solutions, research and innovate new capabilities, and define our science/optimization roadmap
  • Work with product managers and strategists to help provide science expertise and vision that is required in product roadmap planning
  • Research, prototype, innovate and enhance, test, and/or evaluate algorithmic, statistical, heuristic, and mathematical optimization methods
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure that all scientific methodology and designs are properly implemented
  • Work closely with Engineering and QA to ensure that all scientific methodology and designs are properly tested and supported during the product release cycles
  • Work closely with Engineering and Services to support the delivery of our science-based solutions to our customers
  • Collaborate with the group's senior management in customer and prospect facing activities

Position Requirements
  • PhD specializing in Operations Research and/or Predictive Analytics and Forecasting, and/or Data Sciences
  • Applied research within Inventory Optimization, Replenishment, and/or Demand Planning and Forecasting is highly preferred
  • Experience in developing and applying advanced quantitative techniques toward solving business and information/technology problems within productized software is desired
  • Working knowledge / experience in optimization, heuristics, and math programming
  • Working knowledge / experience with supply chain management - research experience in multiple areas is highly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge with R, SAS, SPSS, Matlab, Statistica, or Minitab is a big plus
  • Working knowledge with CPlex (or similar package) is a big plus
  • Working knowledge in SQL, Java, and/or C/C++ is a big plus
