POSITION OBJECTIVE
Execute and manage a team to support structure, processing, and analyzing of high volume, high velocity, or other resource intensive data to generate insight to influence marketing business decisions. Responsible for designing and implementing strategies, architectures, ingestion, storage, consumption and delivery processes for complex, large-volume, multivariate, batch and real time data sets used for modeling, data mining, and research purposes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and implementation of data ingestion techniques for real time and batch processes for data into Hadoop (or similar) ecosystems and HDFS clusters
  • Manage resources, including people and tools to deliver insight to business owners
  • Combine quantitative data with practical insights
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators on a regular basis
  • Performing data studies and data discovery routines for a variety of data sources or mash ups of new and existing data sources
  • Combine quantitative data with practical insights
  • Creates actionable insight and understanding, through the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, building objectives recommendations that directly address business.

  • Draw conclusions, provide consumer insight, and make recommendations based on strategic understanding of the data collected through analysis of business intelligence
  • Drives operational excellence through standardization of agreed upon best practices
  • Carries out post-event analysis to validate forecast assumptions and identifies all additional factors associated with the change
  • Use a variety of reporting tools to produce marketing insights
  • Management of associates
  • Manages direct reports, systems and projects to achieve unit goals in accordance with Company policies and practices.
  • Prepares and analyze unit plans and reports.
  • Provides leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, thus affecting the results of the operating area.

QUALIFICATIONS

required
  • 6+ years of relevant analytics and/or information management experience
  • Experience designing and implementing reporting and visualization for unstructured and structured data sets
  • Experience designing and developing data cleansing routines utilizing typical data quality functions involving standardization, transformation, rationalization, linking and matching
  • Knowledge of data, master data and metadata related standards, processes and technology
  • Experience working with multi-Terabyte data sets
  • Hands-on working experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Mahout, Pig, Hive, HBase, Sqoop, Zookeeper, Ambari, MapReduce and R.
  • Experience working with commercial distributions of HDFS (Hortonworks, Cloudera, Pivotal HD, MapR)
  • Experience with Hadoop Cluster Administration

  • Experience working as a Data Scientist
  • Experience with Data Integration on traditional and Hadoop environments
  • Experience in Information delivery, Analytics and Business Intelligence based on data from hybrid of Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), non-relational (NoSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) and relational Data Warehouses
  • An advanced degree in the area of specialization is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage projects
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Strong problem solving skills and thought leadership
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment, while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
