The role:

We're hiring a Data Engineer to design and implement the systems and algorithms that power our product. You'll build products that ingest, analyze and serve high volumes of financial, behavioral and social data -- products that transform disparate data from multiple sources into actionable, meaningful information for our business and our customers.

As an early hire in this team you'll play an important role in growing our product, and you'll partner with database developers, engineering leadership, subject matter experts, and software engineers to acquire and manage all of the world's financial and relationship data related to Hedge Funds.

Relevant and interesting things you'll do:
  • Develop pipelines and systems to ingest and analyze rich financial, behavioral and social data.
  • Design and build algorithms that extract signals from data including time-series analysis, anomaly detection, entity extraction, taxonomy generation, sentiment detection, recommendation generation, user preference trends and more.
  • Architect and build analytical systems that scale.
  • Partner with engineering, data operations and industry subject matter experts to build the next-generation of all our data products.
  • Work within an Agile environment.

Our ideal candidate has:
  • Experience with ElasticSearch
  • 2+ years of experience programming in Java and Python
  • 1+ years of experience building data processing pipelines
  • A passion for building amazing products that solve interesting problems!

Bonus points for:
  • Experience with RabbitMQ
  • Experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Storm
  • Experience with Neo4J or other graph databases
  • Experience with AWS
  • Prior work experience in the finance industry
  • Degree in Computer Science or in a STEM field
  • Some experience working at a startup or on a small team
