As part of the FP&A organization, the BA Team enables fact-based decision making by designing and executing strategies for data gathering, analysis, and reporting. Mentor Graphics is seeking a Business Analytics Analyst to join a team of 3 analysts.

We are looking for a highly analytical and passionate individual to join our Business Analytics team as a Business Analytics Analyst working in our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Business Analytics, the position is responsible for delivering analysis, and predictive modeling to improve business performance. This position partners with multiple functional groups in the development and implementation of insightful analytics used for decision-making.

  • Analyzing business performance leveraging large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets to understand the root causes.
  • Extract, transform and load a variety of data for use in analytical and reporting models using SQL scripting or other data preparation tools.
  • Utilize big data from a historical performance to predict future results through the use of statistical and predictive modeling concepts, machine-learning approaches, clustering and classification techniques.
  • Execute on recurring Corporate Financial Reporting in QlikView, Tableau, and Oracle Essbase
  • Through a solid working knowledge of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows the Analyst will perform ad-hoc analysis as requested.

Job Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years progressive experience
  • BA or BS degree required in a quantitative discipline (business analytics, operational research, applied statistics, math, computer science, engineering)
  • High business acumen; ability to engage with all levels of the organization for process improvement and solution development
  • Aptitude to write, read and interpret SQL for report and dashboard development
  • Experience using reporting and visualization tools (Business Objects, Essbase, QlikView, Tableau, Alteryx)
  • Understanding and ability to use statistical regression techniques and forecasting methods, R programming preferred.
  • Understanding of enterprise data flows and systems (CRM, ERP, HR, Marketing, etc)
  • Understanding of relational databases and hierarchical data schemes
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; the ability to translate and effectively communicate analytical data to non-technical professionals
  • Strong Excel, MS office, and presentation abilities
