Provide leadership and manage cross organizational processes to ensure successful completion of strategic projects.
Manage, promote and ensure cross-functionally as well as the highest level of data usage and quality for consumer regulated data resources.
Serve as subject matter expert and data steward for credit data.
Lead development and management of data quality best practices and policies for data resources with respect to acquisition of new data, data maintenance (data operations), and data distribution.
Develop responses to and comply with applicable data privacy policies, statutory requirements, and industry reporting practices/policies.
Lead the proactive detection of data quality and data enhancement needs for data resources including the development and implementation of business rules /requirements with technology and other applicable cross organization areas to create and execute on strategic data improvement plans.
Equifax has a career opportunity in its Data and Analytics organization for a Metadata Expert supporting our Workforce Solutions (EWS) business unit. The Metadata Expert will support the business needs of the Information Management Data Governance enterprise-wide metadata repository. This metadata repository will have standard definitions (business and technical), accurate business rules/ calculations, and complete traceability and lineage of governed data within the Equifax Workforce Solutions environment. This individual will provide ad hoc, impact analysis and standard reports to the user and IT communities as well as develop and maintain the metadata model and facilitate organizational alignment through the metadata model supporting Equifax Workforce Solutions.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Partner with business and IT to document business requirements for inclusion in the Metadata Repository, and establish business processes to support its usage. (e.g., where used and impact analysis)
- Develop and maintain user community interaction models in support of the metadata environment
- Maintain a business oriented Metadata Tool User Guide. Provide training assistance to new metadata end users.
- Establish Metadata Guidelines and Standards to assist EWS business departments and IT with the process of capturing and recording business and technical metadata and their relationships
- Coordinate the capturing, maintaining and publishing of metadata into the repository.
- Support the successful deployment of the Information / Data Governance model and tools used to support its business processes.
- Experience in writing business definitions of tables, entities, files, columns, attributes and fields.
- An understanding of business and technical metadata, data lineage and data models and methods to document this metadata for both technical and business users
- A basic understanding of ETL concepts
- Excellent written and spoken communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a diverse group of both business and technical resources
- Strong analytical skills
- An ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Knowledge of data quality concepts
- Knowledge of data governance concepts.
- MS Excel, Word PowerPoint, SQL, Databases, Data Warehouse concepts
- Ability to document functional and design requirements to establish new business processes
- Ability to create and deliver training materials related to new business processes
- Proven ability to build relationships with technical and nontechnical resources
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Business or Science discipline or a related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in Information Management or related experience.
- Extensive knowledge of metadata and data modeling.
- Expert knowledge of data management including exposure to any of the following: metadata, master data, reference data, and content & document management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team.
- Advanced Microsoft Product skills to include Excel, Work, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with SQL.
- Strong presentation and training skills.
- 3+ years process development and project execution experience.
