Xavier University of Louisiana invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor interdisciplinary position in Data Science to begin in the fall of 2018. Areas of special interest include but are not limited to data mining and/or statistical analysis of large genomic, proteomic, or neuroimaging databases in relationship to diseases and/or health disparities; and image data analysis in relationship to medical diagnosis or cyber security. Candidates must possess a doctorate in a related field.
Responsibilities for this faculty position include teaching all levels of undergraduate courses as well as courses in a Master’s program currently under consideration for development; maintaining professional scholarship; advising students; proactive assessment; participating in the life of the university and collaborating with faculty members. The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence; have a desire to engage in superior teaching and undergraduate student research, and have exciting ideas about recruitment and retention.
