The Ford Motor Company Scientific Research Labs has an immediate
opening for a data mining scientist. This position involves both
primary and applied research and development in a variety of areas
including, statistics, artificial intelligence, and database
systems. Present application areas include both engineering and
business data. The position requires an advanced computer science
degree, however other educational disciplines are acceptable providing
experience and fluency in computer science are demonstrated.

We are interested in candidates with experience in the entire process
of data mining, from linking various databases to implementation of
discovered patterns.  Knowledge of various data mining and statistical
tools and technologies (e.g., SGI's MineSet) is very helpful as is a
working knowledge of databases, including SQL.  Creative thinking,
strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be self-directed are
requirements for the position.

The Ford Motor Company Scientific Research Laboratory is a world-wide
known research facility located in Dearborn, Michigan and has over 800
researchers investigating a multitude of diverse topics such as
chemistry, alternative propulsion, environmental sciences, business
systems, vehicle safety, and manufacturing systems.
