Second call for Entries:
7th OMG Object Application Awards

Kronberg ­ February 3, 2000. LogOn Technology Transfer and the Object
Management Group announce for 2000 the Object Application Awards, a
program designed to honor successful object-oriented custom
applications. The awards program is taking place for the 7th time.

The Object Application Awards have shown successful implementation of
object technology in the past. Award winners and finalists in the 1999
program included among others: ASCOM Autelca, The European Space
Agency (ESOC), GMD Fokus, Hitachi Ltd., SGZ Bank and TLC Transport
Logistik (a Deutsche Bahn company).

The Object Management Group is an international consortium supported
by more than 800 information system vendors, software developers and
end users with the mission to create industry specifications to
provide a common framework for application development.

The winners of next yearsı awards program will be announced at a
special ceremony at ifabo 2000 in Vienna on April 12 in one of the
dedicated forums in the "software development village². Dr. Richard
Soley, Chairman of the OMG, will be the master of ceremony.

Submitted applications must either be built from scratch, a
modification of an off-the-shelf application, or an object-oriented
front end for a host application.

Applications for the awards program must be submitted ** by March 3 **
to one of the three awards categories:

1. Best implementation of a distributed application using Object Technology.
2. Best application utilizing reusable components leveraged from or for 
     use in other projects.
3. Best use of object technology within enterprise or large 
     systems environment.
