Deal with Quadstone Provides GUS with Optimized Analysis Solution for
its Customers

NRF Convention  & amp; Expo. 2001, NEW YORK, N.Y. – January 16, 2001 --
Quadstone®, a leading provider of customer intelligence software and
services for CRM initiatives, today announced that Great Universal
Stores (GUS), one of Europe’s largest catalogue retailers, has made a
significant investment in Quadstone’s market leading customer behavior
modeling software.  Quadstone’s solution will enable GUS to take
catalogue shopping online in a multi-channel marketing environment and
at the same time, get a closer understanding of its millions of
customers.

The Quadstone System software has been installed at GUS’s head office in
Manchester for use across all the GUS Home Shopping channels. The System
is analyzing data on a 4.5 million customer base and will also be used
to design strategies for the millions of lapsed customers GUS also has
on its database. The overall GUS portfolio currently includes both
traditional and online channels such as the Kays, Choice and Innovations
catalogues as well as Burberry and the Argos retail outlet that was
purchased by GUS in 1998 for $2.8 billion USD.
