Amazon.com is looking for a data analyst to assist in the monitoring and assessment of features that deliver targeted content and messages to the customer. We want a candidate who is passionate, thrives on challenge, and has strong numerical, systems, and communication skills. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of developers building a variety of features that deliver targeted content on the Web site, in e-mail, and via other channels. The data analyst will also work cross-functionally with Marketing, Retail Stores, and Technology to develop business requirements, evaluation metrics, and monitoring plans for these features. Candidates should have good data analysis, data management, and technical skills. A bachelor's degree in information management, statistics, or computer science with strong data analysis and data management components is required. A higher degree is an asset but is not essential. The candidate will need to be comfortable with a variety of programming and scripting languages such as Perl and SAS. Strong system- building skills will be especially valuable. Compensation includes stock options.
