XML for Analysis Specification Review Process

The XML/A specification prescribes proposed standards designed to ensure universal, reliable and cost effective access to data sources over the Web. Although the specification is primarily of interest to OLAP vendors, it is also useful for data mining analysts and data mining software developers. ANGOSS Software (www.angoss.com) is currently using the XML/A specification in addition to the OLE DB DM specification, as part of our ongoing product development activities. Upcoming versions of KnowledgeSTUDIO and KnowledgeSERVER will support these standards.

A planning meeting for the Advisory Panel and its various working groups is to be held in February, 2002. Ken Ono, ANGOSS CTO, will be leading the data mining working group of the XML for Analysis Advisory Panel. Data mining analysts or software developers interested in learning more about XML for Analysis, participating in the data mining working group review and comment process, contributing to the specification document, or hearing updates on the work of the data mining working group may wish to see the links below for details and contact Ken Ono to express their interest. Interested parties can send their requests to Ken Ono at kono@angoss.com or contact him at 416.593.2401.
