Subject: Miami, FL: Data Mining Consultant at SPSS

Our solutions integrate and analyze marketing, customer and operational data in key vertical markets worldwide, including retail, telecommunications, banking and finance, insurance, market research, health care, manufacturing, consumer packaged goods and the public sector.

We currently seek a Data Mining Consultant for our Miami office. The Data Mining Consultant will take the lead on solving challenging business problems and providing thought leadership across a wide range of industries. You will identify client's key business problems; apply SPSS Data Mining technology to solve their problems, and present results and business recommendations to executive level personnel. Position Responsibilities:

  • Meet with Partner Clients to define and understand their business issues.
  • Develop a business plan that will address how our Data Mining technology (component or product level) addresses the business needs of our partners.
  • Work closely with Solution Architecture team to define Data Mining technology required for the solution.
  • Work closely with Solution Delivery/Consulting Team to ensure proper deployment of architected Data Mining technology.
Position Qualifications
  • Proven ability in applying statistical and machine learning techniques to solve a variety of business problems.
  • Experience with CRISP-DM methodology a strong plus.
  • 2-3 years work experience in Data Mining; experience in retail, telco, financial services, or insurance a plus. Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in statistics, social sciences, market research, operations research, or related quantitative discipline. A strong business and analytic background may substitute for the advanced degree.
  • Excellent knowledge of multiple modeling techniques including neural nets, decision trees, clustering and association analysis, rule induction, etc. as well as classic multivariate statistics.
  • Knowledge of Clementine and SPSS software is required.
  • Excellent communicator who is comfortable in front of clients.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally as a vital member of the team.
  • Experience with time series analysis and forecasting methods a plus.
  • Proven ability to architect production data mining systems a plus.
  • Experience in e-business and web technology projects a plus.
  • Experience with MS Sequel Server and/or Oracle databases a strong plus.
Domestic travel required; willingness to travel internationally a plus.
