FeaturesFrom: Gregory Piatetsky-Shapiro Date: May 6, 2002 Subject: Poll results: first ever European/Asian Data Miners income poll The previous KDnuggets Poll asked data miners from Europe, Asia, and Pacific Rim countries about their status, if student or unemployed, or salary (in thousands of US $), if employed. The results show approximately normal distribution, with a median income around 50,000, significantly less than for US data miners. There were few high-income data miners. However, there were also fewer unemployed than in US. Based on 137 votes, the results are student 23% unemployed 1% 20,000 or less 10% 21 to 40 18% 41 to 60 20% 61 to 80 14% 81 to 100 11% over 100 2%See www.kdnuggets.com/polls/2002/europe_asia_income.htm |
