Campbell, CA. ExtraData Technologies (a privately held company) recently released SearchExtract! v1.7, a tool simplifying collecting and manipulating tabular data on the World Wide Web.

SearchExtract! works as an add-on for Microsoft Internet Explorer and assists in the capture of tabular data in the form of tables, lists (and more) interactively from displayed web pages. The tool allows you to copy data to the clipboard and save it to a file in various formats, allowing interaction with most popular spreadsheets, word processors and other applications.

The tool also lets you reliably automate data collection tasks, allowing users to keep track of Web information without repeated visits to sites. It utilizes fuzzy matching and other artificial intelligence techniques, and therefore data collection quality is not affected by the small changes that Web pages often experience.
