Biomolecular knowledge
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science at the Delft
University of Technology seeks full-time professor in bioinformatics. Duties include
research focused on informatics-based tools for the extraction of new biomolecular
knowledge from experimentally obtained data like gene and protein expression
profiles as well as lecturing in the Bioinformatics and Life Science and Technology
Bachelor and Master programs and Media and Knowledge Engineering. The Netherlands
Genomics Initiative (NROG) financially supports this professorship (www.genomics.nl).
You have
Proven track record in (bio-) informatics and knowledge engineering. A Ph.D. in a relevant
discipline like physics, mathematics or computer science.Team player mindset with
good research and managerial skills. Published pioneering contributions in major
research journals required. Oral command of Dutch an advantage.
Teamwork
The bioinformatics research group (www-ict.ewi.tudelft.nl/~imds) works closely with
biomolecular and biotechnological research groups at TU Delft (www.kluyvercentre.nl),
the Dutch Cancer Institute in Amsterdam, the Genomics Lab in Utrecht, and the Erasmus
Medical Center in Rotterdam. It also participates in Intelligent Systems research aimed
at developing knowledge and signal processing technologies.
