Amazon.com is seeking a Senior Statistician for advanced analysis of consumer behavior data. You, the successful candidate, will create the methodology and analysis that Amazon.com will use to test, evaluate, and perfect the next generation of Amazon.com websites. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team that brings you, the Senior Statistician together with business leaders, usability experts, market researchers and software engineers. You will serve as an internal consultant, guiding the study designs and methodologies that will be used by Amazonians from all parts of the company, in 6 different countries world wide. You will have access to the world's largest e-commerce database for extensive analysis and modeling of consumer behavior. You will also have access to the world's largest and most advanced website laboratory for experimental studies of consumer behavior. The results of your analysis will inform critical business decisions, and you will be able to see and influence the big picture of Amazon.com's business and technology.

To succeed in this role you will be passionate about delivering excellent, actionable customer analysis to business decision-makers, and you will be able to understand and creatively solve problems that span statistics, technology, and business. You will be a leader, able to champion new ideas, new methodologies, and new solutions. You will have superb communication skills and be able to make analytic concepts exciting and relevant to business people and engineers. You will see the big picture, but will also have a strong detail orientation. You will be flexible and able to work in a rapidly changing environment. And above all else, you will be a great analyst. We are looking for experience in one or more of the following: experimental design and analysis of experiments, longitudinal or survival analysis, time series analysis, applied multivariate analysis, data visualization.

The tools you will use include SAS, SQL, Linux; prior experience with all or some of these would be a plus. A Ph.D. or MA/MS in Statistics, Biostatistics, Econometrics, or related a field, plus 5 years experience with applied statistical analysis is required.
