London, UK, March 9th 2004 - InforSense Ltd., the leading provider of Open Discovery Workflow informatics platforms, today announced that Unilever has contracted with InforSense to develop a tailored text-mining service for business trend analysis. Information Scientists within Unilever R&D's Colworth Laboratory (UK) will pilot TextSense�, InforSense's innovative text-mining technology, to provide powerful free text analysis to inform decision making in the science and technology arena.

The custom solution will be developed within the latest version of InforSense's Knowledge Discovery Environment (KDE) 1.9, using the new TextSense module. InforSense 1.9 provides an effective platform for knowledge creation and management using Open Discovery Workflows. When complete, the solution will be conveniently packaged for use as a web application using the Discovery Portal. Target application areas include decision support for management of projects and portfolios, and risk management in market-driven innovation, particularly within the food-safety arena.
