I, Catherine Plaisant (University of Maryland) and Jean-Daniel Fekete (Inria, France) are chairing the IEEE InfoVis 2004 contest which this year focuses on the history of the field through its publications. It's the tenth anniversary of the conference and a perfect contest for mapping text to graphics, visualizations, etc& Its a challenge for text to visualization representations and has tremendous applications in many fields (e.g., library science, drug discovery, security).
