As a result of growth, the Director of the KDD Center of Excellence is a key position in the organization. Building and leading the KDD Center will have a direct impact on the success of the company. This is truly a unique opportunity to be a key leader in a forward-thinking company.

Requirements:

• Recognized thought leader and practitioner in knowledge discovery and data mining
• Demonstrated commercial experience in applying KDD techniques to real-world applications
• Comfortable with the following topics: data mining, data fusion, machine learning, statistical methods, distributed databases, knowledge management, knowledge representation, knowledge discovery
• Able to develop and communicate high-level architectures
• Able to transition advanced research to practical systems
• Ph.D. in Computer Science, or related area
• Familiarity with patent process a plus
• Must be willing and able to relocate to the Delaware region
• Must be U.S. Citizen

Technical Direction

• Define and maintain KDD technology and product roadmap
• Implement roadmap - Selection of appropriate KDD techniques - Technical architecture & design decisions - Supervise implementation - Strengthen and lead the Awareness R&D team
• Acquire and manage Commercial projects and Government R&D projects
• Manage a small team of Sr. Software Scientists with the expectation of this group to grow in the next 12-18 months; Will be heavily involved in interviewing & hiring for this group
• Proof of Concept, Demonstrator, Pilot, Deployment for each project

Support Commercial Direction

• Communicate KDD product requirements and positioning with the Commercialization team
• Communicate with customers in promoting KDD products, services, and solutions

• Present at technical and business conferences and publish in journals.
