POSITION DUTIES
The Vice President position will focus on strategy development for Customer Marketing by working closely with our marketing, finance and credit counterparts to develop sound marketing strategies that will increase profitability and market share. Relying on a strong quantitative background, the Vice President will provide analytical leadership and guidance to analysts within the group. Responsibilities including framing business problems, determining analysis approaches and upgrading the skill levels of the analysts through training and development. He/She will also interpret analytical findings and recommend changes to program strategy where appropriate to increase its value.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Econometrics or related quantitative fields
  • 8-10 years experience working in an analytic or quantitative field, preferably in the bankcard industry
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms. Strong written and oral communications as well as staff development skill is required
  • Demonstrated track record in delivering results through use of quantitative methods.
POSITION SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Technical / Business knowledge: This Vice President is recognized as a leader in broad areas of strategy affecting company success. He/She will partner with P&L leaders to develop operational business plans; Provides input to senior management for strategic and functional business plans that affect company success. Responsible for group and company financial measures (e.g. revenue, operating profit, expense management, etc.)

Decision-making / Problem solving: Recommends changes to portfolio strategies for acquiring and managing customers which have large impact on company success. Develops decision-making guidelines and problem-solving techniques. Changes policies which affect Marketing Analytics.

Communications / Influence: Negotiates with and persuades senior management and others across departments; Crafts and delivers analytic results and recommendations to Vice Chairmen, CEO and the Board; Effectively resolves conflict surrounding controversial findings, recommendations or goals. Handles sensitive information effectively.

Leadership / Teamwork: Provides strategic leadership and general direction to managers and staff. Recognizes and develops talent as a key element of executing business plans; Serves as role model for business dedication, ethics, integrity and cross-functional teamwork. Develops and implements new and innovative work processes and methodologies in the spirit of continuous improvement.

Business / Industry Acumen: Applies understanding of the company's business strategies, competitive environment and industry trends to proactively anticipate business needs and develop group objectives and strategies.
