KXEN (Knowledge Extraction Engines) is looking for a Technical Director to join our US operations. Based in Boston, this position will be responsible for all technical sales, support, training, and consulting activities in the Eastern region of the United States. KXEN is a global analytic software company that provides powerful data modeling technology for both data mining professionals and business decision-makers. KXEN's patented technology quickly and easily transforms data into knowledge, enabling users to make better business decisions. KXEN offers a state-of-the-art suite of predictive and descriptive modeling engines based upon Vapnik's theory of mathematics for regression, classification, clustering, time series, association rules, and sequential patterns. KXEN is headquartered in San Francisco, CA, with Research & Development facilities in Paris, France, and additional offices throughout the U.S. and Europe.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of data mining, machine learning, and pattern analysis techniques.
• 5+ years of work experience in software technical sales, pre-sales, or consulting.
• Knowledge of commercial data mining and statistics software.
• Experience with RDBMS packages (Oracle, DB2, Teradata, SQLServer, etc.)
• Experience as a project leader or manager.

• Graduate degree in Computer Science or other scientific field.
• A passion for creatively solving ill-defined and difficult problems.
• Great communication skills (speaking and written).
• The ability to break down and discuss complex subjects at a wide variety of levels � from CEOs to scientists, from marketing managers to IT managers.
• The judgment and balance to manage several tasks simultaneously.
• The desire to work in a fast-paced, small software company.
• Experience with developing software (C++, Java, & VB preferred)
• Experience with a commercial software engineering lifecycle (MRDs, PRDs, functional specifications, etc.).
