Answers to the concerns of the data mining researcher, as published in KDnuggets News 05:11 of June 7:

To the concern about contestants' invention being taken advantage of by commercial companies, we will accept contestants' results for final contest evaluation with whatever level of details they feel comfortable providing. We have asked the submission of the algorithm description to be no more than 5 pages, the contestants can decide how much details they want to provide. The contestants without detailed algorithm description may not win the algorithm creativity award. This submission of algorithm description is needed for entering the contest because we need to make sure the submission is resulted from contestants' genuine work to ensure their entry to the precision and performance contest are valid.

To the concern about the "training data" being small, the sample data we provided was not intended as training data. We did not specify that this is a simple training/test problem.
