We currently seek a Product Manager-Predictive Enterprise Services in our Chicago Office. This position plays a role in the near and long-term revenue and contribution growth of SPSS by effectively supporting the product management function for SPSS Predictive Enterprise Services�. SPSS Predictive Enterprise Services improves organizations' enterprise-wide management of their analytical assets through two products called SPSS Predictive Enterprise Repository� and SPSS Predictive Enterprise Manager�. SPSS Predictive Enterprise Repository provides a centralized mechanism for managing predictive models at an enterprise level, including security, version control, searching and auditing. Predictive Enterprise Repository includes a thin-client administration tool called SPSS Predictive Enterprise Administrator�, which enables your IT organization to manage the repository without installing additional software. SPSS Predictive Enterprise Manager provides scheduling and automation of analytical tasks such as updating models or scores, with email notification of job termination and status. For example, if you have data that needs to be scored each day, week or month, SPSS Predictive Enterprise Manager will enable the automation of this task.

Responsibilities:

  • This person is responsible for managing the full product management lifecycle; from market and customer intelligence through product planning through working with SPSS employees and partners to ensure the products and associated services are successful in the marketplace. This person is expected to have the skills necessary to manage a high-profile and successful product line. Product management activities that this person will support include:
    Aligning marketing strategy and activities with corporate strategy.
    Directing or performing customer, market and competitive research.
    Helping set product-development and revenue goals for assigned products.
    Driving product development by setting feature requirements according to market needs and product and corporate strategy.
    Completing proposals, requirements documents and other process steps to ensure that development meets market goals and is delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Setting pricing to maximize revenue goals.
  • Seeking out "best practices" being performed by successful sales organizations, learning about successful approaches and sharing that knowledge worldwide.
  • Supporting the sales teams worldwide by producing materials on assigned products; materials might include demos, descriptions of applications, competitive information, descriptions of features and benefits.
  • Supporting sales teams with sales opportunities to generate revenue and gain market understanding.
  • Coordinating or providing necessary product training and information to the sales teams worldwide.
  • Directing promotional activities through channels and partners to expand product reach in the market.
  • Being an evangelist for your products by speaking at conferences, writing articles for publication, working with the media, analysts, etc.
  • Designing, executing and/or working with local marketing operations on a mix of promotional activities, including: web site strategy and online advertising; trade show and conference speaking, exhibition and attendance; online seminar development and delivery; customer and prospect visits and other sales support; direct mail planning; collateral materials and sales tools development; PR and analyst activities.
  • Measuring the success of activities and improve planning and implementation based on the results. Communicating metrics and plans to gain a consensus on product direction.
Requirements include:
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Public speaking experience and a background in writing marketing collateral and marketing strategy documents a plus.
  • Product management experience in software or an understanding of the software development process. A background in the delivery and support of complex software applications-which require products and services-is a plus.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the data mining or the Predictive Analytics market through experience in data mining or business intelligence. Knowledge of the business problems solved by data mining is critical.
  • A demonstrated understanding of bringing applications to market.
  • A university degree.
