Subject: U. of Louisville Offers Online Graduate Certificate in Data Mining

Award-winning faculty members in the Department of Computer Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) and the Department of Mathematics at the University of Louisville have developed a joint, online certificate program in data mining.

This completely online program consists of 18 hours (6 courses) of graduate study. Classes are scheduled to enable completion in as little as one year. SAS and SAS Enterprise Miner software are used. The program features one affordable tuition rate for both in-state and out-of-state students.

Two options are offered: certificate only and certificate plus degree. All students must have an undergraduate degree in a technical field (or equivalent technical experience) and knowledge of calculus. A non-refundable application fee of $50 is also required.

Classes are conducted by award-winning University of Louisville faculty who are leaders in the fields of data mining, data warehousing and data analysis. Their expertise spans the use of text, web, numerical and image databases. They have applied their expertise to the fields of medicine, e-commerce, security, military, education and finance.
