Subject: IlliMine: The Initial Release of the Illinois Data Mining System Package

It is our pleasure to announce the initial release of the IlliMine system package. IlliMine is a partially open-source data mining package which features algorithms implemented in C++. The current release includes online web demonstrations, binaries (both Windows and Linux), and source code for some of the algorithms. IlliMine features algorithms in data cubing, association mining, sequential pattern mining, graph pattern mining, and classification. The current release includes:

  • Data cubing: [source, binary, and Web demo] BUC (our implementation), Star-Cubing, MM-Cubing, C-Cubing
  • Frequent pattern mining: [binary and Web demo] FPGrowth, ParFP, CLOSET+
  • Sequential pattern mining: [binary and Web demo] PrefixSpan, [source] CloSpan, IncSpan
  • Graph pattern mining: [binary and Web demo] gSpan
  • Classification: [binary and Web demo] CPAR
Additional algorithm packages, especially implementations of some classification and clustering algorithms, will be added gradually in the future.
