Objective: The training and workshop are aimed at bringing together researchers and practitioners to learn about data mining technology from practical and theoretical experts. Expect to exchange ideas and experiences focused on the practice of both data mining and the real world analysis of complex data. Students and beginners in Data Mining are also welcome! Possible topics include: Biomedical: Clinical Research, Drug Discovery, Epidemiology, Genomics, Proteomics, Microarray Business: Accounting, Automotive, Banking, CRM, Customer Acquisition and Retention, Direct Marketing, Financial Markets/Investing, Fraud Detection, Governmental Policy Making/Economics, Industrial/Manufacturing. Insurance/Actuarial, Lending/Mortgage/Risk/Scoring, Market Research, Marketing Program Campaigns, Retail, Telecommunications, Web Mining Environmental: Agroecology, Biodiversity, Conservation & Wildlife Modeling, GIS, Toxicity Studies The workshop will be similar in format to our Madrid 2005 Workshop (http://www.salforddatamining.com/program-madrid05.htm) and New York 2005 Conference (http://www.salforddatamining.com/program2005.htm).
