Microsoft Digital Advertising Lab
In the Microsoft Digital Advertising Lab, we are responsible for conducting applied research and providing data mining services for Microsoft online advertising monetization strategies and their execution worldwide.

We are looking for a research architect to incubate and prototype systems, and to collaborate on both implementation and methodology for execution of projects.

Core Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will

• Drive the development process, technology transfer and integration architecture for the Microsoft Digital Advertising Lab
• Work closely with researchers, program managers, and developers to be a main champion for transferring research results into products
• Set coding standards and process for research projects, guiding developers to design, develop and deliver key components and systems for transferring advanced algorithms into Microsoft advertising and monetization platforms
• Work with research teams to generate new ideas and technologies for the next generation of digital marketing products

• At least 8 years of software industry experience with minimum 4 years in a technical leadership role
• Proven ability to lead the design of large scale system architectures for online services using Microsoft technologies and platforms
• Ability to make sound trade-offs without compromising quality and schedule, write highly detailed and quality-driven technical specifications, and drive for results
• A deep understanding of object oriented analysis, design and methodology is required. Experience in SQL, OLAP and ASP.NET/IIS is a strong plus
• Experience working in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, and related fields is desirable
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with teams across multiple continents is required
• An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines is required
