This position is within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Model Review area that is responsible for reviewing and evaluating the overall integrity of the financial, statistical and business models that are utilized within the organization. It includes evaluating and appraising statistical models that are used to render decisions in customer behavior, financial valuation and cash flow models used in securitization and capital markets activities, and interest rate risk models used to simulate the impact on net interest income given directional movements in interest rates. Responsibilities include mapping and reconciling model inputs to their originating source and reviewing formulas and calculations for accuracy. The incumbent must have a general understanding of financial theory and application, as well as excellent auditing and problem solving skills.

This position will review the following models and tools across all Providian lines of business, including credit, finance, marketing and operations:

  • Statistics
  • Financial Valuation & Cash Flow
  • Asset & Liability Management
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor�s degree in Business, Finance, Math, Economics, Statistics or other related quantitative discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years direct experience in auditing and/or Risk Management processes highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years direct financial services experience.
  • Knowledge of key accounting principles such as FAS 133 and FAS 140, as well as bank regulatory guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competencies/knowledge of credit-risk fundamentals, financial spreadsheet & database tools (Excel, Access, SQL, etc.).
