Job Description:
The BSG Payments team is leading the company's new payment processing
initiatives and two core components of the company's new service
offerings are credit card acquiring and a real-time risk management
service. BSG is seeking a strong leader to manage the analytics
tools, functions, and processes to assess merchant underwriting risk,
monitor the merchant portfolio for merchant fraud and support the risk
management service offered to premier BSG clients.
Primary Job Functions:
- Merchant Underwriting Review - Develop/maintain the analytics methods and financial models to review applications and perform credit assessments on prospective merchants.
- Merchant Portfolio Review - Provide routine assessments, reserve/profitability analysis and chargeback monitoring to mitigate merchant risk on a credit card acquiring portfolio.
- Merchant Fraud Monitoring - Develop/maintain the analysis tools, reporting and processes to monitor anomalistic merchant processing and prevent merchant fraud.
- Risk Management Service - Manage data mining/interpretation, the delivery of queries/reports, and periodic assessments to optimize the risk management service to predict consumer fraud.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Relevant undergraduate degree (i.e. CS, MIS, Accounting, Finance, Math or Stats).
- 5+ years hands-on experience in a payment-processing environment.
- Strong database query skills (MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle) & highly proficient with MS Excel.
- A detail-oriented individual with exceptional interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of financial analysis, credit underwriting and credit card regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant advanced degree - MBA or PHD preferred.
- 3+ Credit card underwriting experience
- Experience with data mining, risk scoring, neural networks and other information analysis techniques on large datasets. Experience with common tools - SAS, SPSS, Statistica, etc.
