Subject: Austin, TX: Senior Manager - Small Business Contact Strategy at Dell Inc.

We are seeking a Senior Manager for our Small Business Contact Strategy (BCS) group. This individual will report to the Director CRM and be the primary contact on the CRM team for working with the Business Marketing Communication (Marcom) team in developing contact strategy for acquisition and retention across all marketing vehicles: direct mail, email, FSI, outbound calling, broadcast and print. The BCS will manage and be supported by a team of 5-7 internal resources as well dedicated external resources. The BCS will also be required to be extremely comfortable with metrics and explaining the insights from them to help drive both strategic and tactical Marcom decisions. Using his/her high degree of comfort with numbers and their ability to drive action from them, the BCS will also be the primary Dell CRM resource for the Business group to collect this information and help translate it to specific direct to business (DTB) marketing recommendations.

Responsibility

  • Develop both tactical and strategic DTB circulation/flighting recommendations within and across different communication vehicles including DM, email, outbound calling, FSI, broadcast, radio and print
  • Produce monthly forecasts of calls, orders, revenue, margin, and customer counts by marcom vehicle using traditional DTB metrics along with Dell specific metrics.
  • Develop a monthly attribution analysis describing the difference of forecasted metrics to actual results by marcom vehicle.
  • Create clear and transparent reporting of DTB results
  • Manage lists for optimizing site acquisition economics and house file value.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to personnel both experienced and inexperienced in DTB marketing.
  • Be a strong and effective leader capable of managing both experienced and inexperienced people with traditional and non-traditional backgrounds. Manage a team of 5-7 on site resources, several external vendors, and 1-4 remote location personnel.
  • Act as the point contact of CRM for the Business marcom group by having a keen attention to detail and ability to help prioritize requests.
  • Capable of communicating with statistical analysts, model builders and personnel with strong analytical backgrounds for the purpose of extracting actionable information used in marcom vehicles.
  • Experience with a statistical or programming language such as SAS, SPSS, or LIMPDEP.
  • Manage external vendor relationships to ensure Dell is always be given superior value and service.
Education/Skills:
  • 7-10 years in the direct marketing industry with increasing responsibility of a direct, business to business program culminating in general program oversight.
  • 5-7 years of experience managing people of different experience levels.
  • Direct experience with all marcom vehicles including: DM, email, telephone calls, FSI, broadcast (TV and radio) and print. Experience in building a worldclass team is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Knowledge of a statistical/programming language such as SAS, SPSS or LIMPDEP.
  • BS in Business, Math, OR, Economics, Psychology, MBA preferred in Marketing or Direct Marketing.
  • Prior experience in direct Business to Business marketing a plus.
