We are seeking a Statistician to report to the Statistician Lead and will analyze, evaluate and measure marketing, consumer and general business efforts in the Marketing Department of Dell Inc. The Statistician will have a strong command of statistical processes and how to apply them in a business setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct rigorous analysis that will help change the business.
  • Balance analytic rigor with the needs of the business
  • Be able to effectively communicate the results and insights of the analyses to the Statistician Lead
  • Apply quantitative methods including but not limited to: regression analysis, parametric and non-parametric methods and simulation.
  • Experienced with applying various types of distributions to analyses including, but not limited to: normal, bi-nomial, pareato, lognormal, exponential and chi-square.
  • Support the Statistician Lead as the "goto" resource for quantitative/analytic support for efforts such as sample size, test designs and hypothesis testing.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and be able to meet deadlines and effectively set expectations
Education/Skills
  • Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, economics or operations research
  • A minimum of 2 years using statistical analysis that directly supports revenue generating marketing or other business initiatives.
  • Experience with a broad range of analytical processes including: time-series regression, neural networks, forecasting, CHAID, non-parametric, structural equation modeling, hypothesis testing and experimental design, hypothesis testing, ANOVA.
  • Strong skills with SAS and SQL.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic environment
