Scope of Position:

  • Analysis and interpretation of agency clients' internal customer data and external data sources to support business decision-making.
  • Development and implementation of predictive models to improve the effectiveness of marketing actions.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate clients' business situations and recommend appropriate analytic approach.
  • Manage key analytic portions of a project from start to finish
    • Design research methodology and/or analytic framework
    • Select appropriate tools and technique
    • Data sourcing - coordinate data feeds and updates
    • Data preparation
    • Data analysis/Modeling
    • Conclusions/recommendations
  • Prepare functional specifications for set up of systems and processes
  • Major contribution in written analysis and presentation
  • Consistency in delivering error-free work, on time, at standards that meet or exceed agency client and DMOA expectations
  • Active contribution to project planning and scheduling
  • Strong initiative in identifying steps that should be taken with all projects
  • Provide statistical consulting (e.g. working with clients and agency personnel to determine the validity and significance of observed program results)
  • Supervise analysts and/or coordinators
Technical Skills:
  • Highly quantitative background (degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Mathematics)
  • 4+ years experience as data analyst or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of SAS and/or SPSS
  • Strong analytical skills with solid foundation in statistical procedures. Experience in one or more of the following: ANOVA, CHAID, cluster analysis, factor analysis, multivariate regression analysis.
  • Experience with Database software a plus (Access, FoxPro, SQL Server, or Oracle).
Behavioral Skills:
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles
  • Growing effectiveness and versatility in oral presentations
  • Solid business writing skills
  • Strong knowledge of industry dynamics in one or more areas of concentration
  • Supervisory skills
