All candidates must have a proven track record of developing scientific and analytical insights to tough problems. They must possess a record of exceptional academic and professional achievement, demonstrated through scientific publications, patents and shipped products, and should be comfortable working with very large datasets in a commercial software development environment.

These are 'hands on' positions where you will be asked to do everything from build rock-solid components to formulate strategy and evangelize technology, lead company-wide architectural changes, mentor other engineers and provide training and support for our supported technologies. Successful candidates must be innovative, creative, flexible, self-directed, and able to design and write high-performance, reliable, maintainable code.

Responsibilities:

• Derive novel approaches to the recognition and analysis of structured and unstructured data, with the goal of enhancing the quality and relevance of results BeliefNetworks provides.
• Research methods to adapt and improve BeliefNetwork anomaly identification and assessment algorithms.
• Provide statistical analysis support for the business - provide statistical analysis that can drive business decisions around the value of different data sources and the impact of meeting customer requirements.
• Author patent applications and whitepapers to protect the intellectual property of the company, and to evangelize its technology publicly.

• PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Operations Research or Mathematics, specializing in Data-Mining, Machine Learning or Statistics. Will accept MS with experience
• Experience writing search engines, web crawlers or information retrieval engines.
• 5+ years of experience applying scientific and analytical skills in a commercial software development environment
• Strong conceptual understanding of a range of current Data Mining/Machine Learning and search technologies (Decision Trees, Neural Networks, Support Vector Machines, Hidden Markov Models etc.) .
• Algorithm design experience and familiarity with probabilistic Machine Learning methods.
• Experience with C++, MATLAB, C# and mySQL or SQL
