University scholars can receive free copies of DB2 UDB and Intelligent
Miner  for educational or research purposes.

A scholar can get a free copy of DB2 Universal Database and Intelligent
Miner to install and use in a course or research  environment. As part of
the condition, students must be exposed to DB2 and Intelligent Miner
through assignments, projects, exercises in order to qualify for a free
copy.

We have about 40 universities (worldwide) involved in this program.
