This is eight miles northwest of Chicago's O'Hare airport. The Interface Conference is the leading North American conference on the interface between statistics and computing. The meeting is sponsored by the Interface Foundation of North America. The conference theme for 1999 is "Models, Predictions, and Computing" . The keynote address will be given by Leo Breiman on "The Mysteries of Prediction." The banquet address will be given by Stephen Wolfram. The meeting will include three short courses (to be given on Wed. June 9) and 25 invited paper sessions. One of the short courses (by John Elder) and several of the invited sessions are on Data Mining.
