IMASE 2000 INTELLIGENT MULTI-AGENT SYSTEMS FOR E-COMMERCE Call for Papers Special Issue of Netnomics and Workshop at the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference GECCO-2000 Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, 8-14 July 2000 There is increasing interest in autonomous agents, particularly with their use both in Internet trading and Economic simulations. IMASE 2000 concentrates upon the use of adaptive learning agents within such systems and will promote awareness of the current state of the art and future prospects for the use of evolutionary computation within intelligent multi-agents systems. Particularly within the application of electronic commerce and economic simulations. The best discussion papers will be considered for a special issue on Intelligent Multi-Agent Systems in Electronic commerce of the Netnomics journal. Purpose: The workshop and special issue of the Netnomics journal are about using evolutionary learning by intelligent multi-agent systems. With particular emphasis on application in economics in general and electronic commerce (E-Commerce, Internet trading) in particular. Topics include evolutionary algorithms used as a learning component within intelligent learning agents and/or evolutionary learning by multi-agent systems comprised of simple agents. GECCO is the joint conference of Genetic Programming 2000 and International Conference on Genetic Algorithms 2000, ICGA 2000. It is the largest and most inclusive conference in the field of evolutionary computation. By holding IMASE 2000 at the GECCO 2000 conference we will attract interest in evolutionary computation within intelligent learning agents in multi-agent systems for e-commerce and we hope by gathering interested parties together to both promote and advance the field. Call for Discussion Papers Short (up to 3 pages) discussion papers are invited After the workshop a selection of the best papers will form a special issue of the Netnomics journal. Position papers are invited on (but not limited to): * the design and implementation of intelligent software agents for commercial or economical applications, by evolutionary techniques * the modeling and simulation of software agent systems as complex adaptive systems, by evolutionary techniques Workshop Local arrangements: For venue, accommodation and Local arrangements please see GECCO-2000 pages. Timetable: 3 page submission deadline: 23 March 2000 Notification of workshop acceptance: 6 April 2000 3 page camera ready papers for workshop 20 April 2000 GECCO 2000 Workshop: 8 July 2000 Notification of special issues authors 8 July 2000 Netnomics submissions due: 27 September 2000 Completion of Netnomics review: 8 November 2000 Workshop and Special Issue Web Site: http://www.cwi.nl/~bill/imase
