The Lubrizol Corporation is a
worldwide supplier of performance chemicals for lubricants, fuels and other
specialty markets.  Lubrizol's Research & Development Division is currently
seeking a blue-chip individual to join our team of nine MS/Ph.D. researchers
working in the Statistics and Intelligent Systems group.

Responsibilities:
*	Analyze historical databases to build predictive models and
data-driven knowledge tools.
*	Perform methodological research and/or evaluate new methodology.
*	Collaborate with chemists and engineers on problems in formulation
development, performance testing, and process/product development.
*	Design and analyze experiments.

The ideal candidate will possess:
*	Recent Master's or Ph.D. degree in statistics, machine learning, or
closely related field.
*	Strong modeling background with experience in Bayesian inference,
regression and classification analysis, and multivariate statistics.
Training in experimental design.
*	Knowledge and/or interest in machine learning and modern regression
methods (e.g., CART, MARS, radial basis functions, Bayesian networks,
nonlinear optimization algorithms, multimedia analysis).
*	Strong computing background with high-level programming experience
(e.g., C, Fortran), and proficiency in SAS or S-Plus.
*	Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to
work in a team environment.
