Will be responsible for designing and developing distributed, object-oriented, scientific/engineering data and information systems. Responsibilities include object-oriented analysis and design, and the development of complex scientific software. Strong technical skills in UNIX, object-oriented database systems, and object-oriented program development, and C++ required; Java and CORBA desired. Master's degree and three years of relevant experience in software development for scientific and engineering applications, or Ph.D. in computer science or related area required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Projects include Scientific Data Management for the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory, a DOE national user facility, and design and development of knowledge management systems for scientific domains.
