We're not talking just Web pages; we mean streaming media, Usenet, FTP and all the other things that make up the Internet, including things that are not even around yet. ABOUT US: We are the Internet Archive, a research and development institute created to build a digital library of the Internet. We envision the archive as a record of our times, useful now and into the future. The archive is used by researchers, historians, scholars, journalists, etc. from around the world. While we primarily focus on the Internet, we are also developing projects to archive materials from other important, ephemeral media. We are developing systems to gather, store, index, analyze, and serve Internet-based information. Our technologies will address challenges such as parallel database creation/access, automatic streaming media indexing/searching, computational scalability for all of our systems, and management of hundreds of Linux PCs containing thousands of disk drives. Interesting research/development projects abound! ------------------- ABOUT THE JOB: We are seeking people of exceptional creativity and enthusiasm to be engineers, scientists, programmers, and whatever else is needed to make great ideas become reality.
