provides informatics software and imaging-based screening instrumentation
combined biological cell-based solutions for the pharmaceutical industry
to facilitate the process of new drug discovery. As the Data Mining Lead
Developer, you will lead the development of a new data mining product to
extract data from scientific databases in the pharmaceutical research
industry. We use the latest data mining and tools to enable users to
identify hidden information that exists when mining information-rich data

Job Description:
The Data Mining Lead Developer will lead the development of a new data
mining product that will be used to perform data mining and visualization
from various database sources, including data generated from proprietary
screening instruments, data retrieved from other high throughput screening
instruments, and data retrieved from our cellular knowledgebase. The
position will require someone with a combination of hands-on development
and project management skills to lead a team to deliver a complete product
to the market. The Data Mining Lead Developer will be responsible for
leading the development of the GUI front-end for data presentation,
evaluation, and integration of third party data mining technologies and
methods for getting data into a format for performing data mining. This
position requires project management responsibility including developing
and managing project schedules; continuously improving required
activities, tasks, and deliverables. A mix of sound technical and business
skills will be needed to launch the new product into the marketplace.

Requirements:
This position requires experience in commercial-grade software development
and project management, plus an understanding of or the ability to learn
data mining technologies (neural nets, statistical classifiers, decision
trees, clustering, etc.), object-oriented methodologies, and GUI design
and development. He or she must be thoroughly familiar with the full
software development life cycle. The ability to communicate effectively
with scientific personnel and convert customer requirements into product
specifications is essential. Experience developing in a Windows NT
environment with Visual Basic and/or Visual C++ and/or Java and an
understanding of modern Microsoft tools (ActiveX, COM/DCOM, etc.) is
required. Additional experience in web-technologies, client/server, SQL,
and other database technologies (in particular SQL Server or Oracle) would
be beneficial. The ability to perform hands-on development and lead an
outstanding team of software developers to deliver a product to the market
in a timely manner is critical. An understanding of life science
applications would be a plus. This position requires a minimum of 5 years
of software development experience and a B.S./M.S./Ph.D. in a science
(physics, mathematics, or computer science) or engineering-based field.
