Company: Avenue A leverages the accountability of the Internet to help
online advertisers and marketers increase the effectiveness and return
on investment of their Internet advertising and marketing campaigns.
Integrating service, technology, and analysis, Avenue A provides
Internet planning and buying, proprietary ad delivery and management,
data collection and analysis, targeted e-mail, and enhanced marketing
support, such as strategic partnerships and search engine
optimization.  Avenue A currently serves over 60 clients, including
Eddie Bauer, Expedia.com, Gateway, Gear.com, Microsoft Corporation
(MSN), MTV Networks, Onvia.com, RealNetworks, TicketmasterOnline-
CitySearch and Toysrus.com. The company is based in Seattle with
offices in Chicago and New York.

Title:  Data Warehouse Developer

Summary: Part of a team designing and implementing a terabyte OLAP
data warehouse.

Specific Duties

We are seeking junior and senior individuals who can excel in one or
more of the following:

* Business systems analyst: Responsible for determining the business
requirements and ensuring that any design meets those requirements.

* Database developer: Responsible for smooth extraction of data from
our production systems into the warehouse, including validation.
Involves implementation of sophisticated sampling algorithms.
Probably also responsible for developing canned queries and other
interfaces useful for a moderately sophisticated end-user audience.

* Data modeler: Responsible for developing the database schema
definition based on the business requirements.  Also systems
architecture design.

* DBA: Responsible for implementing the dimensional model, including
aggregation, partitioning and indexing strategies.  Also responsible
for day-to-day operational support of the database, performance
tuning, hardware requirements, storage requirements, backup and
recovery, security, OLAP reporting tools recommendations, etc.

Skills and Experience
Requirements depend on the specific position applied for.

* Business systems analyst: Strong communications skills; able to work
closely with upper management and technical staff both.  Ideally will
have played this role in previous data warehouse project.
* Database developer: C++, SQl, VB, Access, Excel, OLAP tools.
* Data modeler: Experience with data warehouse schema design and security.
* DBA: Experience managing very large databases, preferably as Oracle DBA.
