Objective: To improve UUNET's ability to achieve a total view of the
customer and analyze various relationships among its products. The
incumbent must be a self-starter willing to dive into large amounts of
data and interact with multiple departments (Sales, Product
Management, Finance, etc.). He/she will tie their data base skills to
real world business needs. The position is in the Product Marketing,
Business Intelligence Group.

Responsibilities:

* Analyze sequential relationships between products
* Determine where "cross-product" ties exist to increase multi-service sales
* Profile/segment customer base to identify profitable customers for targeted marketing
* Develop a LTV (life-time value) measurement of the customer base
* Determine how best to retire products without jeopardizing the customer base

Requirements

1-2 years experience in one or more of the following:

* Data warehouse architectures
  * Star & Snowflake

* OLAP tools
  * Whitelight
  * Brio
  * Microstrategy

* Data mining techniques of a major data mining tols (SAS Enterprise Miner, SPSS
Clementine, IBM Intelligent Miner)
  * Association
  * Clustering
  * Neural Networks
  * Decision Trees

* Proven ability to interface with other internal departments
* B.S./B.A required; Masters (M.B.A.) strongly preferred
