Applications are invited for two Research Assistants for
a European project entitled "IRAIA - Getting Orientation in
Complex Information Spaces as an Emergent Behaviour of
Autonomous Information Agents".  This project will last until
February 2002. Post 1 will deal in large measure with
visualization and display of numeric and textual information.
Post 2 will assist in implementation in a distributed computing
environment.  Both posts will involve close collaboration with
our international partners. Applicants must have at least the
equivalent of a 2-1 degree in Computer Science, Engineering,
Statistics or a related numerate discipline.  Significant
experience in information visualization and/or distributed
computing environments is desirable.  Informal enquiries to

Salary will be in the RA1A range GBP 16,286 - GBP 24,479 per annum,
placement will be dependent upon age, qualifications,
experience and available funding
