Amazon.com's Data Mining Group seeks visionary and creative software
engineers who are driven to satisfy customers by implementing data
mining, decision support and decision automation system solutions.

* The perfect candidate will have excellent design, coding, and
problem-solving skills; a demonstrated ability to work both
independently and in an aggressive, small team environment; and a
strong desire and the enthusiasm to succeed at the frontier of
e-commerce.

* The ideal candidate will lead and/or participate in all phases of
software development, including systems analysis and design,
development of custom applications, integration of third-party tools,
and interfacing to large-scale data warehouses.

* Knowledge and experience with data mining algorithms (such as
association rules, clustering, classification) and/or experience with
the care and feeding of analytic applications is a strong plus.

* Proficiency in SQL, Unix, and C/C++ are essential to this position.
Experience with CORBA, Perl, CGI and XML, and deploying
high-performance and scalable solutions for e-commerce will be a
strong plus, as are excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* B.S. in computer science or equivalent and two years of related
experience deploying high-performance and scalable solutions for
e-commerce, retail, marketing, finance, or supply-chain is also
required.
