Hanover Direct Inc, an industry leader in Direct Marketing and

Statistical Analyst to join the Data Warehouse team.

This position will be responsible to build and implement data mining
models to enhance scoring predictability; analyze marketing campaigns;
perform ad-hoc custom analyses and Oracle database queries; and work
with the marketing teams to continuously refine data models and
applications.

This candidate will be trained in data mining, machine learning,
pattern recognition, or statistics.  This candidate will have a degree
in applied mathematics, engineering, or computer science. The ideal
candidate will have a broad background and the following skill sets:

 Excellent communication skills
 Working knowledge of Relational Databases and SQL.
 Familiarity with OLAP tools is a plus.
 Any exposure to commercial data mining tools  (Clementine,
     KnowledgeSTUDIO, Model1, Intelligent Miner, Enterprise Miner,
     etc.) is a plus.
 Need to have a desire to experiment with new data mining algorithms
      and techniques to discover patterns in large volumes of data.
 Solid understanding in basic statistical and probability
       theory is required. Familiarity with
       analytical modeling techniques addressing categorical
       outcomes (logistic regression, decision tree, and neural networks).
 Knowledge of models for customer scoring, customer attrition,
    customer lifetime value, market basket analysis, trend analysis.
