PublicationsFrom: Art Owen owen@stat.Stanford.EDUDate: Wed, 28 Jun 2000 17:25:49 -0700 (PDT) Subject: Plaid models for microarray data A new model for analyzing gene expression data is available. The plaid model clusters genes, but: * genes can belong to more than one cluster * gene clusters can be defined by some but not necessarily all, of the samples * samples cluster genes, genes cluster samples, in the same model The technical report and some slides are available at http://www.stanford.edu/~owen/plaid The same model with two-way overlapping clusters might be applicable to some problems in information retrieval and recommender systems. Plaid was developed by Stanford statisticians Laura Lazzeroni and Art Owen. _____________________________________________________________________ Art Owen Tel: 650.725.2232 Dept. of Statistics Fax: 650.725.8977 Sequoia Hall, 130 art "AT" stat.stanford.edu Stanford, CA 94305 www-stat.stanford.edu/~owen |
