Director of Data Mining

Join a startup firm pioneering a subset in the online commercial
finance space!

The Director will work with a highly motivated and talented group of
scientists and engineers responsible for development of predictive
models for managing commercial lending credit and fraud risk.

Design and build predictive models based on the latest technologies in
neural networks, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence,
statistical modeling and machine learning.

Specific responsibilities may vary by project, but will include
analyzing huge amounts of data to determine suitability for modeling,
pattern identification and feature (variable) selection from large
amounts of data, experimenting with different types of models,
analyzing performance, and reporting results to customers.

Strong programming skills desired. Proficiency in C and UNIX, and
familiarity with some analysis tool, e.g. MATLAB, SAS, etc. desirable.
Working knowledge of at least one of the following languages: SAS,SPSS,
S+ and data processing concepts.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, including
ability to define direction and scope of projects. Demonstrate
enthusiasm and commitment to building and training functional teams.

MS, Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering, Applied Statistics/ Mathematics or related field required.
Specific industry experience in financial services, a plus.
