The latest KDnuggets Poll, conducted from end of September thru the
first week of October,  asked the question:
What is your annual salary?  Based on 310 votes, the results show that the
median salary is around US $70,000.  There is a wide range with 18%
below 40,000 and 9% above 120,000.  Part of the range is due to much
lower salaries in areas like China and Eastern Europe.  Unfortunately,
the one-question format of the poll, made it difficult to make a
salary distinction by region or by industry/academy.

        40 or less	      18%
        40 to 60	      15%
        60 to 80	      23%
        80 to 100	      18%
        100 to 120            17%
        over 120               9%
